CalmCheck Privacy Policy

CalmCheck respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the CalmCheck app collects, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

CalmCheck may collect your name, the name and email address of your trusted contact, your selected check-in mode, your chosen check-in time or timer, and the status of your check-in.

This information is used only to provide the CalmCheck safety check-in service and, when necessary, send an alert to your trusted contact.

How we use and store information

CalmCheck uses your information to create and manage check-ins, display your current check-in status, and send an alert email to your trusted contact if you miss a check-in and the grace period expires.

Your check-in information is stored securely using Google Firebase. Trusted-contact alerts are processed using Make and Gmail. CalmCheck does not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Sharing of information

CalmCheck shares information only when needed to provide the service. This may include sharing your name, check-in details and alert information with your chosen trusted contact if you miss a check-in.

CalmCheck may also use trusted service providers, including Google Firebase, Make and Gmail, to store information and send alerts. These providers process information only as needed to deliver the service.

Data retention and deletion

CalmCheck keeps personal information only for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain check-in records, and meet legal or security requirements.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us using the details below. Where possible, we will remove or anonymise your information after receiving a valid request.

Your choices and rights

You may update your trusted-contact details within the CalmCheck app. You may also stop using CalmCheck at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing.

Children’s privacy

CalmCheck is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Security

CalmCheck uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. However, no online service can guarantee complete security, and users should take care when choosing and maintaining access to their devices and accounts.
